If only

Last year I spent a week in Japan and had the most enchanting time. Every day, I just went walking around Kyoto trying to find those amazing little gardens. I wish I could have stayed another month. Michael Kenna seems to be very fortunate. He managed to travel to japan a few years in a row and has some outstanding imagery.

Happy saturday

Before you go to Josef Hoflehner's website, maybe you want to grab a cup of coffee, a biscuit or two and a lot of time. Josef has so many amazing folios, you'll want to spent a long time there. I had a hard time to decide which series was my favourite, but "Expect delays" was rather fitting. Ohhh how I would love to own one of these prints. Even a small/tiny one.

My love of paper

As a designer I am obsessed with paper. Especially old books found in libraries, or bought for their binding, cover and paper colouring. Below are a few images I took a while ago, but I hope to be able to upload the new images soon as well.

Little treat

These rich and lovely images are from Flora Hanitijo. Again they seem to inspire me more to dream about a getaway.

Ghosts of yesterday

I think saturday has to be my favourite day. A day to enjoy a long breakfast, read, play chess, catch up with friends and generally take time to do everything a bit slower. Looking for new photographers for next week I came upon Alexey Titarenko and was absolutely overjoyed by his timeless photography, that I had to post him straight away. The images below are from his series "Black & White Magic of St. Petersburg" (1995-1999).

Wabi Sabi

When I came upon Jennilee Marigomen "wabi sabi" - nothing lasts, nothing is finished, nothing is perfect - series I just had to agree. Here are some lovely images. Wabi-sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience. She also has a blog where she dedicates a song for her daily image as lovely background music.

Day dreaming

I have been dreaming about running away for a little holiday for a couple of days now. Today I came across Palmer Davis on flak photo and was smitten with the simple holiday feeling. Now I wish I could go and experience the "italian light" myself.....

Memories come flooding back

When I was in Lisbon two years ago I was mesmerized by the blue sky and I spent an afternoon at the pier watching the boys somersault into the water. Today I found these delightful black and white images by Jan Postma.

Living in the city we see to miss the country... living in the bush we seem to miss the tapas bar and the the cinema. And then I came upon Will Govus "I've lived on a dirt road all my live". And once again, I can imagine living out in the bush.

Stasi Land

I dont know how I ended up on Federicos flicker site, but there I was - and very happy to look around. His images are simply outstanding and he takes his photos with film. You can discover more outstanding images on his website.

Last week I came across Ada Augustyniak. Below you find some of her lovely & soft images from her series "i want to live in the light until i become transparent". Check out her "wild winter" images - they sure make me miss having snow around.
