Today I would like to share the stunningly beautiful new work "Traces" of Ian Baguskas from New York. I wish I was a traveller.

When I look up

In February I started to photograph the sky on a daily basis. I am a day dreamer, so I often look up at the sky, but I was interested to see the hues collected over the year. When it is sunny for a while, we feel like it has been sunny forever. The same goes if it rains (unfortunately not enough here), if it rains for 2 days we feel like it has always been like that. But looking up every day makes me realise how often it changes and how quickly. One of these days I will sit there all day with my camera and take a photo of the constantly changing hues every 5 minutes :)

Old time favourite

I am sure you probably all know the amazing photographs by the very talented Mickey Smith, but as I have been doing so much work with books recently, I thought I would like to show her amazing images of her book spines. The first time I saw them, I was absolutely blown away by the simplicity and strength of those images.

On my bookshelf

The last couple of weeks have been fun and very inspiring. I don't have many design projects on (a worry I try not to let get in my way), so I can dedicate all of my time to my photography. I am exploring ways to make very delicate collages and am rather excited and always try to put them together and play with all the beautiful paper, little titles/words/page numbers. These old pages are really something other, so before I go ahead and finish them I thought I do a trial run with my camera. And then I got carried away...

Painting with light

I usually don't take photos with a digital camera, but I borrowed one from a friend and had lots of fun yesterday. Here are a few images from my old book cover landscapes.
I guess this is the beauty of a digital camera, everything is so instant.

Bygone days

The last couple of weeks I tried to take my camera with me where ever I went.

It seems to take far more time to scan an image and organise ones photos then it does to push the button of the camera when one is inspired. Below are some images from last year. "The clock talked loud. I threw it away, it scared me what it talked." A lovely little quote from Tillie Olsen.

So brave

Today I came across this beautiful and very sad story of Katie and Nick via A Cup of Jo.
"Katie Kirkpatrick, 21, held off cancer to celebrate the happiest day of her life. Breathing was difficult now; she had to use oxygen. The pain in her back was so intense it broke through the morphine. Her organs were shutting down but it would not stop her from marrying Nick Godwin, 23, who had been in love with Katie since 11th grade. Five days later, Katie died." Photographer Romain Blanquart.
